The art of Jess Santis is his return to a home that is Gratitude. Its message is in each of his paintings, which he says are like written letters put together like a journal. Within them is the understanding of suffering in life, sometimes coming to perch in the form of intemperance where the deluge of misery pours unhindered.
In between, the sky clears. It is a calm moment to look up. Gazing upward, seemingly adoring the heavens, the artist transforms into looking into art – his own. And there, he declares his indebtedness.
