As the saying goes, “don’t let yourself be blinded by her beauty.”
Beauty is something that is consistently sought after in this world. We try to capture it through sculptures, paintings, film, and literature. Most of us are often entranced when presented with beauty, as our eyes allow us to see and indulge in its resplendence.
However, beauty is a master enchantress. It can deceive your eyes. It is blinding! Isagani Carlos’s Blinded By Beauty perfectly encapsulates this. The damsel in his artwork has roses over her eyes – effectively covering her line of sight. She is not entirely blind, however. The roses represent the beauty in which she is enthralled.
When one is blinded by beauty, they fail to see those deemed unattractive, often perilous. Such as in love, when we are wearing rose-colored glasses, all the red flags just look like regular flags.
