About the Artist
Ivan Acuña began his career at U.P. Diliman, changing majors and working as a professional photographer on product assignments for many businesses, most notably Orocan. Through his photographic profession, he was welcomed to the Saturday group, where he expanded his ties in the art world and met Budji Layug, a highly educated interior designer who displayed Ivan’s work in Dubai. That’s when it all started to snowball into partnerships with fashion bags, BMW, large-scale paintings, billboards with Brother’s Burger, and a 16×16-foot sculpture for the Diamond Hotel. Ivan Acuña’s paintings were shown on local TV Telanovelas due to the luxury mansions being hired out for recording. He is currently on his path to blurring the distinctions between his works and diverse goods.
