Ombok Villamor (b. 1979)
Rustom Cleofe “Ombok” Villamor is a Visayan artist from Samar, Philippines, who intertwines his architecture background and life by the sea into vivid, intuitive visual narratives. Known for his flowing abstractions, Villamor transforms organic forms—echoing sea life, flora, and celestial phenomena—into ethereal canvases and luminescent sculptures that pulse with vitality.

He earned his architecture degree from North West Samar State University before establishing himself professionally as both painter and sculptor. His accolades include being a finalist in the 2015 GSIS Non-Representational Art Competition and a semi-finalist in the 2002 ArtPetron National Student Art Competition. Villamor’s works have graced renowned exhibitions such as VIVA ExCon Biennale in Bohol and Bacolod, and the country’s longest‑running art fair, ManilART

Villamor’s creative philosophy centers on the intersections of sensory experience, environmental stewardship, and artistic inquiry. Whether through painterly swirls that mirror undersea worlds and starfields, or glowing sculptures that call to the mysteries of the deep, his works invite contemplation on the inherent rhythms and resilience of nature.
