Tied Secrets

“Hidden within the lush Bougainvillea Tree is proof that I was here, that I waited for you. That what I felt was true.”

Melody of Embroidery

Raul Patindol has always been fascinated with history and heirlooms. He would often catch himself wondering the heritage behind a particular antique and what it might have witnessed.

“Heirlooms give a certain feeling of nostalgia that trigger fond memories that touch the soul”

In his latest exhibit, Patindol focuses his brushwork to capturing on canvas an objet d’art that has been around since the 5th century BC, Embroidery. Embroidery designs tell of many things. They are chronicles of history that are sewn in fabric; some designs can even tell the social conditions of an era.

“Each strand has a story.”

In an almost obsessive manner, Raul strives to painstakingly give character to every strand on the embroidery in hopes that he is able to give visual words for audience to piece together a memory they thought was long forgotten.
