This sculpture was inspired by the structure of DNA — the double helix that holds the instructions for life. Just like DNA passes down traits through generations, fishing villages pass down traditions, skills, and ways of living with the sea. The circling fish mimic a DNA strand, wrapping around the village to show how tightly connected life, culture, and nature are. Without DNA, life can’t continue — and without these traditions, communities lose their identity. It’s a tribute to preservation, connection, and the quiet strength of heritage.
